The Department of Pathology was founded in March 2021 with the intake of 150 MBBS students every academic year. The Department of Pathology is committed to excellence and always seeks to provide the best diagnostic services, instruction, and research possible. Enthusiastic and well-behaved, the Department's main goals are to provide excellent laboratory diagnostic services, undergraduate / para-medical teaching, and creative research endeavors.
Histopathology, Cytopathology, Hematology, and Clinical Pathology are among the department's several subspecialties. Undergraduate and paramedical students also receive pathology training.

NMC Foundation Day
NMC Foundation Day was celebrated on 25th September 2023.
CME
On September 25th 2024, Department of Pathology conducted a CME - Programme on HEMOGLOBINOPATHIES (A Mystery in Mountains). This programme was attended by all faculties and students. Doctors, Staff Nurses and Lab technicians from other primary health centers of the district also attended this programme
Sensitization Programme on HEMOGLOBINOPATHIES
This programme was conducted on 27th and 28th December 2024 by our department for Lab Technicians and Staff Nurses and Village health nurses of primary health centers. Hands-on training was given on sickle solubility and NESTROFT test.
Quiz Competition
Quiz competition was conducted on 25th September 2024 on HEMATOLOGY.
E – Posters / Poster Presentation
An average of 35 E - Posters were presented by the students in TAPCON – CME Conference in PSG IMSR, Coimbatore.
Rangoli Competition
Rangoli competition on 25th September 2024 on the topic of HEMOGLOBINOPATHIES.
Museum Programmes
Monthly museum programmes are being conducted in the department by the students to educate themselves.
Clinical Society Meeting Presentations
Our department faculties participate in the monthly clinical society meeting conducted in the hospital – side. In this, interesting and rare cases are being presented and discussed.
